World Library and Information Congress: 75th IFLA General Conference and Assembly"Libraries create futures: Building on cultural heritage"23-27 August 2009, Milan, Italy Call for PapersKnowledge Management SectionTheme: "Knowledge advocacy" The IFLA Knowledge Management Section invites librarians, information scientists, professionals, researchers and other interested parties in knowledge management to submit proposals to its open session which will be held at the 75th IFLA Conference on 23-27 August 2009 in Milan, Italy. ‘Knowledge advocacy' is the promotion and fostering of knowledge processes within the organisation. This session features strategies and practices of different types of libraries as they create exciting futures with positive impact in their communities, build knowledge sharing ecologies in their communities, and ensure a strong role for librarians in those communities. The two-hour session entitled “Knowledge advocacy”, invites papers to speak about:
Submissions
Unfortunately, the Programme Committee has no funds to assist prospective authors: abstracts should only be submitted on the understanding that the expenses of attending the Milan conference (including travel, expenses and conference fee) will be the responsibility of the author(s)/presenter(s) of accepted papers. Some national professional associations may be able to help fund certain expenses, and a small number of grants for conference attendance maybe available from IFLA as well as from the Comité français IFLA (French Committee of IFLA) and from the Vereniging Openbare Bibliotheken (Dutch Association for Public Libraries). |
