Gothenburg University Library

Gothenburg University Library consists of ten separate libraries, including Learning Resource Centres. We are one of the most frequented research libraries in Sweden, with 1.6 million visits per year. Gothenburg University Library is a meeting place for students, teachers and researchers at the University of Gothenburg. Besides this, the Library is a cultural institution for the citizens of Gothenburg, as well as a knowledge and culture resource, open and accessible to the general public.

The subjects covered are medicine, health caring sciences, dentistry and biosciences.

Botanical and Environmental Library
The collections of the Botanical and Environmental Library are focused on botany and environmental sciences with related fields and marine ecology.

 Central Library

 

Central Library
The Library is responsible for supplying literature in the humanities and social sciences. The main part of the large collection of older literature and manuscripts at the University is held by the Central Library. KvinnSam – the National Resource Library for Gender Studies is located here as well.

The collections are focused on economics, business administration, human and economic geography, law, statistics, economic history, i.e. the subject fields of the School of Business, Economics and Law.

The Library is responsible for supplying literature in geology, marine geology, physical geography, oceanography and conservation.

 Undergraduate and Newspaper Library

 

Undergraduate and Newspaper Library
The Library is primarily for undergraduate students in the social sciences and students at the School of  Business, Economics and Law. It is responsible for supplying textbooks and daily newspapers.

The Library is responsible for supplying literature in subjects associated with pedagogy, the teacher educations and home economics.

Library of the Academy of Music and Drama

The Library of the Academy of Music and Drama

The Academy is a department of the University of Gothenburg with about 700 students and a staff of 150. It is housed in Artisten, a building in the city centre of Gothenburg. The Bachelor programmes include composition, musical theatre, music with six specializations, opera, teacher training with three specializations, and drama. The Master programmes comprise music with various specializations as well as musical drama and acting. The academy also offers programmes leading to the award of a Ph.D. In addition it offers a large number of events open to the public in the form of concerts, theatre performances, lectures etc. The Academy of Music and Drama belongs to the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts at the University of Gothenburg. The Faculty conducts research and artistic development work within a broad spectrum of disciplines. The library serves the students and staff of the Academy and the music section of the Department of Cultural Sciences.

Chalmers University of Technology Library

Chalmers Library is a university research library specializing in science and technology. Our most important assignment is to be a central resource for information support to Chalmers students, researchers, teachers and other staff. This is also a public research library, open to all those who need to use our collections and the combined skills of our librarians. The library comprises three entities: The Main Library and the Architecture Library at the Johanneberg Campus and the Lindholmen Library at the Lindholmen Campus.
